Sea Kayak Paddle Float Rescue Multiple Techniques
This is an older video - the second of two (first is linked in the video and can be found here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHS5t9LQGkg - covering how I teach the paddle float rescue - "scramble" style and heel hook - without using the deck lines to secure the paddle. There are a few key points that make these successful. First, all of your weight need to be near the kayak. Second, your forearms on the paddle shaft and the deck of the kayak allow you to gain leverage and support. Third, make sure there is some (not too much) slack in the perimeter lines and adding tubing at key grip points make it much easier and comfortable to hold the lines and paddle securely. There are other techniques, but the key points for success remain. IF you do need to secure the paddle under the perimeter lines, do so with caution. ___________________________________________________________________________ For sea kayak & Greenland style paddling instruction (I do travel): https://rnissenbaum.com Get out, go #seakayaking, #challengeyourself, #pushyourllimits, #goexplore, get in some #skillspractice, #learnsomethingnew & live your #lifeunleased with a few #kayakingadventures (and preferrably with a #greenlandpaddle)!
