This is a crucial concept for understanding why some words change their endings and others don't. 🔍 WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: • The 3 types of noun flexibility in Arabic • Fully-flexible (منصرف) – the default state • Partly-flexible (غير منصرف) – exceptions to the rule • Non-flexible (مبني) – words that never change • How to identify partly-flexible words in the Quran 📖 FROM THE TEXTBOOK: "There are three forms of flexibility. They are: 1) fully-flexible, 2) partly-flexible, 3) non-flexible." ⚡ FULLY-FLEXIBLE (متصرف/منصرف): • Can show all 3 statuses normally • Has 3 unique endings for رفع، نصب، جر • Example: مُسْلِمٌ، مُسْلِمًا، مُسْلِمٍ ⚠️ PARTLY-FLEXIBLE (غير منصرف): • Cannot take tanween • Cannot take kasra (gets fatha in جر) • 4 main categories: 1. NON-ARAB NAMES: • إبراهيمُ، إبراهيمَ، إبراهيمَ (NOT إبراهيمٍ) • Exception: 3-letter names with sukoon on middle letter (نُوحٌ) 2. FEMININE NAMES: • عائشةُ، عائشةَ، عائشةَ • Exception: 3-letter names with sukoon (هِنْدٌ) 3. UNIQUELY MASCULINE NAMES: • عُمَرُ، عُمَرَ، عُمَرَ • عُثْمَانُ، عُثْمَانَ، عُثْمَانَ 4.
