Overview: This is the recording of the first class lecture for the Secure Quantum Computing Course. This class and video lecture introduces the Secure Quantum Computing course. It gives a brief overview of the course logistics, followed by preview of the security work and research on quantum computing. The focus of the preview of the security and research work is to demonstrate some of the existing security attacks on quantum computers, considering confidentiality and integrity threats in particular. This class and video serve mainly as motivation for study of Secure Quantum Computing. Security and quantum computing topics will be introduced in subsequent classes and videos.
