The breach was not described as a direct infrastructure exploit of Vercel’s platform, but rather a third-party compromise that cascaded into Vercel through employee OAuth / Google Workspace access. The implicated third party is Context.ai. This matters because Vercel hosts thousands of production apps, startups, SaaS dashboards, and Web3 frontends. If exposed credentials were reused or stored in plaintext environment variables, downstream customer risk exists.
