Point pattern data are very common and arise in many ecological and environmental studies. The points may represent the locations of birds, plant species or herds of animals, among other things. In this talk Zaza looked at the basic tools for interrogating such data sets. These include methods for checking whether the observed point pattern data is random, methods for estimating the spatial intensity and tools for investigating inter-point relationships.
