When we talk about various ready positions, one thing we have to consider is: What’s the best way to protect my weapon from potential opponents while also having it “at the ready”?
Back in 1999, DR Middlebrooks and I pressure-tested several options and adopted a position we called the Sentry Position. It’s performed exceptionally well in all the situations we’d experienced and could foresee, while also giving us the freedom to create structure and movement in relation to our environment.
This becomes even more critical when the world around us goes sideways.
