Hello friends, I am Shilpi Tanti (M.Sc, NET-JRF, Ph.D) and have started a lecture series on sample survey as sampling is one of the important topics of Statistics. Sampling is used in all the fields like social science, business, commerce, economics, biostatistics etc. One of the importance of the subject Statistics come from this topic as it differentiate Statistics from the other specific subjects like Mathematics, Physics etc.
Sequential sampling is a non-probabilistic sampling technique and is mainly used in product quality control or statistical quality control due to its resampling property.
In sequential sampling:
1) the sample size is not fixed in advance
2) the time frame is also not fixed in advance
3) there are three possibilities viz., reject the hypothesis, accept the hypothesis or in case, fail to draw any conclusion then draw another sample and repeat the process.
Sequential sampling is also known as acceptance sampling because here resampling is done to accept the null hypothesis. The concept of sequential sampling is discussed in the video, so please watch the video till the end.
