IN this video, we will be starting with an Introduction as usual. Then we will move on the Communication models available followed by exploring the features of SPI protocol. We also would learn about the internal hardware of SPI and Modes of Connection. We will conclude by doing some merit and demerit analysis. Connection of peripheral devices in an embedded system with the MCU, using, microcontroller’s parallel address and data bus, leads to lot of wiring on the PCB to route the address and data lines. For this, number of address decoders and logic circuits have been used for connection. Furthermore, lots of control lines implies that the systems are more inclined to disturbances by Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD). These problems are addressed by Serial communication. SPI helps in by reducing the number of digital GPIOs in system PCB design level.
