Setting up MFA in EMSISD

All EMS ISD Staff must enable Multi-Factor Authentication Users will only be required to authenticate via phone text/call or app when attempting to access accounts OUTSIDE of the EMS ISD network. There are multiple ways to set up MFA for your account. We recommend Phone (Text) or Authenticator App. Set up with your Phone (to receive texts or a call) Sign in to your Microsoft 365 account Click your profile picture or icon in the upper right corner - View Account Click Security Info (left column) + Add Method Choose an authentication method: Phone - it needs to be a phone where you can be reached when you are OUTSIDE of the district. Enter your phone number, choose Text or Call (Recommend: Text) Set up with Authenticator App Sign in to your Microsoft 365 account Click your profile picture or icon in the upper right corner View Account Click Security Info (left column) + Add Method Choose an authentication method: Authenticator App - Add Download the "Microsoft Authenticator" app to your device IMPORTANT: During the initial setup on your phone, do not sign in with an account. Click SKIP (upper right corner) - Add Account - Work or school account - Scan QR code (Allow your camera) On your computer, click NEXT and scan the QR code with your phone. After setting it up, click NEXT again to try it. When you click APPROVE on your phone, the "notification approved" message will appear on your computer screen. If you have more than one method of authentication listed (phone and app), click your Default Sign-In Method. Pick your favorite option.
