Quick video on how to set up a hard point for easy rigging. Got a question about it recently and decided to just quickly make a video. Not a high quality production and I apologize for the echo, but wanted to help some folks out quickly. This is my standard method of attaching a hard point anywhere that doesn't have a built-in ring. So like urban infrastructure, trees, wooden beams, rafters, etc. 10/10 recommend rated rock climbing equipment. Nylon straps, carabiners, spinners, and even rigging plates (sometimes called descender plates) are all standard pieces of rock climbing kits. There's safety in rated equipment WHEN YOU USE IT CORRECTLY! Edit: In an effort to keep things short and concise, I did not go over all the intricacies on how to properly use rock climbing equipment. If you use it unwisely, your equipment will not live up to its safety rating. As an example, to mitigate tri-axial loading of my carabiner attached to the strap, I technically should instead be using a shackle instead of a carabiner. My setup isn't perfect, and in no way should my 2 minute video comprise your entire knowledge of rigging hard points. Please use me as one of many references for figuring out how you want to setup your hard point.
