Seven Dips

The Story of Namaan Verse 1 [verse] Naaman was a mighty man, a hero of the land, Commander of the army with his sword in hand, But something was wrong — it was plain to see, Naaman the great had leprosy. A servant girl — just a servant girl — Said, "I know a prophet who can change your world, Go to Israel, find Elisha, he can set you free!" Big hope from a little girl to a man in need. 2 Kings 5:1–4 Verse 2 [verse] He rode up with his horses and his chariots in a line, Expecting a grand welcome and a healing quite divine, But Elisha didn't even come to meet him at the door — Just sent a messenger, and Naaman hit the floor. "Go wash in the Jordan seven times and you'll be clean!" "The Jordan?! That muddy river?! What does that even mean?!" "My rivers back in Syria are better — this is wrong!" But his servants said, "Just try it, it won't take very long." 2 Kings 5:9–14 Chorus — The counting [chorus] One — nothing yet Two — still has leprosy Three — this is so embarrassing Four — his servants start to pray Five — Naaman keeps on going Six — almost, almost, almost… Seven — CLEAN! God had a plan all along, Simple and surprising and strong, Do what He says even when it seems strange — Seven dips and everything changed! 2 Kings 5:14; 1 Corinthians 1:27; Zechariah 4:6; Proverbs 3:5–6 Verse 3 [verse] He came up from the water and he looked at his own skin, Soft as a little child's — where had the leprosy been? Gone! Every bit of it gone! Naaman the great stood there with his pride all done. He ran back to Elisha saying, "Now I know it's true, There is no God in all the earth like the God of you!" The mighty man bowed low that day — the simplest thing set him free, A servant girl, a muddy river, and the God who sees. 2 Kings 5:14–15
