Sewing a Neckline Placket. The placket is a finished opening in either a fitted or semi-fitted garment which allows for ease of movement when putting on / taking off that particular piece of clothing. Imagine if you will the shirt sleeve placket which we have looked at previously. The shirt sleeve placket is added to the cuff section of a shirt to allow it to open sufficiently wide enough for a hand to pass through. The neckline placket does exactly the same job.
