San Francisco Fire Department H3 Level 1 EMTs and H3 Level 2 Paramedics must successfully pass the San Francisco Fire Department's Physical Agility Test (PAT) to be considered for the EMS academy. The EMS PAT is the minimum physical standard. If selected, candidates must be prepared to participate in a physically demanding 8-week academy consisting of aerobic and anaerobic physical training.
