What to learn how to play Bison but don't know where to start? Confused by all the combo videos and waffle? Don't know how to PSYCHO good? Well this is the tutorial for you! In this tutorial I will cover what I believe are the core combos for beginners to learn before going on to the more complex hit-confirms and link combos, the idea is to find the simplest and most effective combos. I will also cover a quick primer to Intermediate Combos, punishing, jump-ins, anti-airs and dealing with fireballs! I normally only like doing fast, slow and crush counter combos as I don't want to overload beginners with too much information however Bison is in an odd position where he needs a charge to combo from his fastest attack and his slow attack is really quite slow so I added "medium" options as well. Quick reference; his c.LP is a 4-frame move, c.MP is 6-frames and s.HP is 11-frames. There are some specials like Balrog's dash punch that are -4 on block so it is important to learn the fast punish combos as well as the medium ones. Speaking of, Bison has always been a charge character so it is a pretty interesting change adding a circular input special allowing for combos without the need of charge. You can swap M Inferno with M Knee Press for the same damage but leaves you in a better position (plus in throw range), similar true for swapping H Inferno for H Knee Press but you have to take a little damage hit for the mix-up. I would recommend using V-Skill 1 vs projectile characters, can use either if they don't have projectile. V-Skill 2 is quite slow so if someone is looking for it they can punish the start-up, it is +1 on block so you can throw it out safely if you're not being punished. V-Trigger 1 is probably a little easier to use than V-Trigger 2 however it is a 3-bar VT and requires EX meter to make the most of it. VT2 you can actually cancel Knee Press into Judgement however I decided it was too complicated for beginners so didn't include it :P The Psycho Charge is basically a blockable time bomb, it will detonate after a short time regardless of whether you detonate it or not so it is something else your opponent has to worry about. You might be wondering where the c.MK xx VT combos are, turns out Bison is only +4 after c.MK xx VT so can only really combo with c.LP and I decided the link was too tight for Beginners. You can also VT1 cancel H Knee Press but again it's a tight link for c.MP so decided too difficult for beginners. Cancelling from s.HP or df+HP makes the s.HP link a lot easier however they are both very slow normals, there are probably situations where df+HP VT cancel is useful but didn't want to confuse beginners with too much information. Any questions about the video, combos, character, game, etc. please leave a comment and I'll do my best to answer! I made a little mistake and had the Patreon text go on longer than the music and BG, whoops! xD No news as yet when Oro is coming out so most likely will be able to get at least one more Beginner Combos before then.
