shady.Hacks 2024 Project Presentations

joinsilicon.org/shadyhacks shady.Hacks is the first middle and high school hackathon in Pittsburgh city, where students program for 8 hours using any hardware/software they would like to address one of the world’s pressing issues. In 2024, we welcomed 50+ students from 15+ schools with a hackathon theme of Healthcare. We awarded over $500 in prizes and an Internship with Enact Solar, and raised over $2000 to support the event. Additionally, we introduced professionals and professors from Carnegie Mellon University, Amazon Web Services, and University of Pittsburgh, who helped assist participants with their projects through masterclasses and help stations. This year, we are aiming to be exposed to more students to provide them a platform to Compete, Compute, and Connect with sponsors from Wolfram, Art of Problem Solving, and more shady.Hacks 2025 will be hosted on April 5th, starting at 9 AM and ending at 5 PM. The prize pool this year has been upgraded to 6 prizes totaling $700+ with an internship award at a start-up company. Any level of programming experience is welcome, as everyone who attends receives free T-shirts, a certificate, and a Wolfram Alpha subscription. shady.Hacks will be a great opportunity just to hang out with friends and meet new people(students, professionals, professors) who are experienced in the field!
