The warmth of the heart surrounds you, without trapping. A gentle armor that can withstand anything. “Warmth” is a song I wrote in 2015 off my first record “All this life goin down” that continues to reveal itself to me all these years later. I believe we are born beings of love. Embodied in the golden warmth of of the heart, and more often than not life gives us the terrible purpose of building walls around that natural state. We get further away in search of safety and in honor of protecting such a precious thing and at some point we have to find our way back. If you are on this journey I commend you, there is nothing more vulnerable than uncovering that heart space and continuing to walk into a world that does not cater to your unique softness. My hope is that as more of us do this uncovering the world will inevitably change for the better. For those moments when your journey feels more heavy than easeful remember the warmth of the heart.
