The first song used, titled "Dance and Angela" is taken from Franz Waxman's 1951 score to the film A Place in the Sun. The subsequent six episodes feature the same song interpreted in different genres. The last episode of the series features the same original theme, but from a more orchestral part of the score to A Place in the Sun. Of the eight versions, only four are available on the official soundtrack, which are the ones used as the introductions to episodes 2, 4, 6, and 8. The version played in episode 1 is not included on the official soundtrack (despite its similarity to episode 8's version). Some of the artists that are included on other tracks from the soundtrack are also responsible for some of the Dance and Angela covers. Alexandra Stréliski, whose recording of Concerto in D Minor is used in the show, is also the performer of episode 3's piano version. Mark Batson, the artist credited for Cupcake Kitty Curls, is believed to be the male singer in episode 5's version. The Acid, who have a song titled Tumbling Lights used during several episodes, are also the artist behind episode 7's version.
