In today’s video I’m setting the tool height on the Shars OXA quick change tool post.
I’m setting the tool height to a live center, which will get the height close to correct.
Final setting is done while cutting a piece of round stock.
A few things you want to make sure are correct before you start, otherwise you will not have correct height of the tool.
You want to make sure that the tool is seated on the tool post.
You also want to make sure that the tail stock is aligned with the head stock and it is securely fastened to the lathe bed.
