Sheldon Pacotti - Deus Ex interview (edited)
For all you Deus Ex fans out there. The original interview cut way too much to Deus Ex conversations, to the point that it was distracting. I think it is a safe bet that anyone who wants to listen to an interview from the writer of Deus Ex, probably knows what Deus Ex is. (For those who haven't, what the hell are you waiting for?) I also messed up with what the radio host was saying, but whatever. It's good enough. The questions Where did the name come from? 0:00 Was it deliberate to start the game with the decapitated statue of Liberty? 1:20 What did you think about what Chad said about freedom, after what happened at 9/11 2:35 Do the NSF have an enemy in common with Osama Bin Laden and do they have the same agenda? 3:40 Did the NSF really fight a second american revolution? 5:30 What do video games like Deus Ex provide to gamers? 6:10 Why can't we have sex in game, while we can burn enemies alive? 7:40 You travelled to Asia, did that help with the making of the Hong Kong experience? 10:19 Check out Sheldon's books here: http://sheldonpacotti.com/ I can't recommend highly enough his book "Demiurge". It's the only one I have read from him and it blew my mind. http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00NK7X3T0 His new book "γ" is out!
