Shellharbour Garbage
What I bring this week is a truck which used to work in Shellharbour City Council; an old Hino with a Compaction Systems body. I'm not sure if they had more than one of these 6x4 Sidepaks in the fleet, but I did spot a smaller single-axle in the yard during a visit once. Anyone actually seen a Sidepak in Thiess colours before? I took this not too long before the truck retired from duty, now replaced with one of the old Pine Rivers side loaders from QLD. I thought I might've missed out on videoing this as they had a lot of new machines coming through, but I was a few weeks lucky =] This was the last truck I videoed before heading home after my "southern" roadtrip midway last year. This was taken still early in the morning on a Friday, collecting the garbage in the suburb of Mount Warrigal. Might interest you to know that ALL three bins (yes including the garbage) are collected fortnightly in Shellharbour, which is unique for an urban service. I also had Mick (my1xr6) cruising along with me for the day, got to see everything from "behind the scenes" as he said haha A big sorry to the driver for keeping him waiting for so long, thanks to him and hope he enjoys the action - you'll see he's a very enthusiastic operator! A bit of a long clip to start with; got a little carried away with footage again :P
