It’s been 8 months since I last shoot a pistol. Normally, I train through the winter but this winter was simply much to cool to be on the range practicing. With no indoor range in my city, there is no other option than to use the outdoor range during winter. Anyhow, I final put on the gun belt and holster a handgun to do some training prior to a Steel Challenge match. Today’s practice session had simple objectives: practice the draw, get the feel back for trigger manipulation and speed, get used to the recoil and manage it, and regain confidence that I can hit the target with every round. So, the key was to shoot no faster than what would allow me to hit the target every time. It was a short practice session but valuable time on the range.
