It is a technique mostly used for shoulder shaping. Short row on the wrong side (WS) technique WS row: Work number of sts told in the pattern, bring the yarn to the back of work,(as if to knit), slip the next stitch purlwise from the left needle to the right needle, bring the yarn forward (as if to purl). Slip the slipped stitch from the right needle back to the left needle, turn the work so the knit side is facing you, ready to knit, and knit all the stitches according to the pattern. Next row(WS): You close the gap formed where you wrap the stitches as follows: Slip 1st st knitwise through the back loop, purl until the stitch before the gap. Pick up the wrap with the right needle from back to front. Place the wrap onto the left needle, over and before the stitch it was wrapping. Purl together the wrap and the stitch that is wrapped.
