Should You Exercise During a POTS Flare?
Should You Exercise During a POTS flare? I get asked this question quite often by clients with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome as fatigue, brain fog, GI issues, and muscle cramps can make exercise challenging. Figuring out if your body is up for exercising during a flare depends on a few things: 1. Your baseline & intensity of your flare (check out this video for guidance - https://youtu.be/eYyLYkSmXvY?si=-1TPzMSUokwokhAu ) 2. Your personal fitness level & type of exercise 3. Your ability to tune into your body Some tips for approaching exercise during a flare: 1. Keep it "light" 2. Have a 50% mindset 3. Stay well hydrated Check out the video for more tips! And remember, it's ok to take a few days off & regroup. If you're interested in guidance in how to approach exercise during a flare, I'd be happy to talk to you more.
