Simple multiple regression (SMR), more accurately termed multiple linear regression (MLR), is a statistical method that models the relationship between a single dependent variable and two or more independent variables. It is an extension of simple linear regression, which uses only one independent variable. The goal of SMR (or MLR) is to predict the value of the dependent variable using a combination of independent variables.
