Here's a Simplex 2310 12" square sync-wired clock. These clocks are controlled by a Master Clock, usually located in the main office or a utility closet. At 57min 54sec of every hour, the Master Clock sends an 8-second pulse (120V AC for the clock featured here) to correct the minute and second hands. This is called "hourly correction" because it occurs every hour. At 5:57:54 AM & PM, the Master sends a 14-second pulse to correct the hour hand. This is called "12-hour Correction" because it occurs every 12 hours.
Featured in this video is a 12-Hour Correction. Because I don't have a real Master Clock, I rigged a box up with a momentary push-button switch. To initiate the 12-hour correction, I hold the push-button for 14-seconds.
With Hourly Correction, the clock sets itself to 59min 00sec of whatever hour it is currently displaying. With 12-Hour Correction, the clock sets itself to 5:59 by doing multiple Hourly Corrections at once until it gets to 5:59.
