A motif, based on the phrase ‘Praise him! Praise him! Ever in joyful song’, appears in the introductory bars and throughout this selection. The first song featured is I love to sing of the Saviour (S.A.S.B. 845). In bars 16 and 17, a hint of the earlier motif is played by the Euphoniums and Basses and should be noticeable but not dominate the main melody. The secondary melody (S.A.S.B. 231) is featured in its entirety at section D.
The selection concludes with a reference to the chorus Singing glory, glory, Glory be to God on high (S.A.S.B. 840) from bar 86. A strong, rhythmic approach is required throughout this piece.
