Smart Attendance System Using ESP32 & RFID | Auto Upload to Google Sheets | IoT Project Tutorial
🎯 Title: Smart Attendance System Using ESP32 & RFID | Automatic Attendance on Google Sheets | IoT Project Code - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/198uQcHiOykH3XZdNlLzl9GeulbayzOHb?usp=sharing 📜 Description: Welcome back to my channel! 🙌 In today’s video, I’m going to show you how to build a complete Smart Attendance System using ESP32 and RFID cards. This is a fully automated IoT project where every time someone scans their RFID card, their attendance record gets instantly uploaded to Google Sheets — no manual entry required! This project is ideal for students, schools, offices, colleges, and organizations that want to automate attendance tracking with cloud integration. It’s easy to build, affordable, and beginner-friendly. 🚀 Project Overview: In this project, we’ll connect an RFID module (RC522) to an ESP32 microcontroller. When a user taps their RFID card, the ESP32 reads the card’s unique UID and sends it to a Google Apps Script Web App over WiFi. The data is then automatically saved to a Google Sheet with details like Name, UID, Date, and Time. You can also display the user’s name and attendance status on a 16x2 LCD display or on the Serial Monitor for a more visual experience. This is a great project to understand IoT concepts, Google Script integration, and real-time data logging — perfect for your college final year project, school exhibition, or IoT learning. 🧰 Materials Required: Here’s the list of all the components you’ll need to make this Smart Attendance System: 1️⃣ ESP32 WiFi Module – the brain of the project (handles RFID and WiFi communication) 2️⃣ RFID Reader Module (RC522) – used to read RFID card tags 3️⃣ RFID Cards / Tags – for individual identification 4️⃣ 16x2 LCD Display with I2C Adapter – to show card details and messages 5️⃣ Breadboard and Jumper Wires – for connections 6️⃣ USB Cable (Type-C or Micro) – to upload code to ESP32 7️⃣ Power Supply (5V) or use your computer’s USB port Optional: Buzzer (Active or Passive) for scan confirmation LED indicators for visual feedback ⚙️ How It Works: 1️⃣ When the RFID card is placed near the RC522 module, the ESP32 reads its UID number. 2️⃣ The ESP32 connects to your WiFi network. 3️⃣ The UID is then sent to a Google Apps Script Web App via an HTTP request. 4️⃣ The script logs the data to a Google Sheet in real-time — including Date, Time, and User Name. 5️⃣ The LCD screen displays a welcome message or “Attendance Marked!” confirmation. So every time a card is scanned, the data is automatically stored in your Google Sheet, making it easy to track attendance anywhere in the world! 🌎 💡 Features of this Project: ✔ Real-time attendance tracking on Google Sheets ✔ No need for manual attendance marking ✔ WiFi-based IoT system ✔ Cloud integration using Google Apps Script ✔ User-friendly interface with LCD ✔ Expandable — you can add more sensors or use a database later 📁 Code, Circuit & Setup Guide: If you want the complete Arduino code, Google Apps Script, and circuit diagram, 💬 Comment below “I want the code” — I’ll share the full resources with you! In the video, I’ll also explain step-by-step how to: Connect the ESP32 with RFID Set up the Google Apps Script Link it to Google Sheets Upload and test your attendance data 🎓 Why You Should Try This Project: This project teaches you how to integrate hardware (ESP32 & RFID) with cloud platforms (Google Sheets) using HTTP requests — a key concept in IoT development. It’s perfect for students doing B.E, B.Tech, Diploma, or school projects. You can also modify it for employee attendance, door access systems, or smart entry logs. 📦 Applications: School and College Attendance System Employee Attendance Tracking Library Entry Management Smart Office Automation Real-Time IoT Data Logging Projects 🎥 Watch Full Tutorial: 👉 Stay tuned till the end to see the live working demo, understand the code explanation, and learn how to connect everything properly.
