SMART Language Learning Goals

Language learning goals can be huge to your overall progress when learning a foreign language. Goals help you to make consistent progress, stay on track, and overall provide a guide on how to achieve what you want in the end of the day. A great framework for creating language learning goals is the SMART goals framework. While there can be different words associated with each letter, you can think of the acronym as characteristics that your goals should have when you are creating them. SMART goals are: S - Specific M - Measurable A - Achievable R - Relevant T - Time-bound In my opinion, goals tend to be a pretty neglected part of many peoples language learning journey. I think that having goals and tracking your progress can be so massive in the end of the day. A lot of times, things such as goals or more optimized strategies can be just as important as the language learning itself to your overall progress.
