SmartBuilder 4.8.0 Release

SmartBuilder 4.8.0 released! Key enhancements include: • Character object with stock image library: Enhance your elearning with stock character images! Use the Character object to choose images for multiple states (e.g., neutral, happy, concerned) and use actions to change the visible state. • Right-click start visible: Right-click on any object to toggle the Start Visible property on or off. • Move layers and stacks: Quickly change the layout of a page by moving a stack and all its layers and objects in a single step using keyboard arrow keys. • Learn/Test software simulation template: Quickly create 'teach' and 'test' mode software simulations using the same set of images. Dropdown list and custom interaction steps have been added to the template, in addition to click (hotspot) and fill-in-the blank steps used in other simulation templates. See video tutorial. • Quiz review mode: A checkbox, Allow user to review quiz, has been added to the Randomized Quiz Controller template. This feature allows learners to step through each question after they have completed a quiz to see their response and the corresponding feedback. • Action authoring tutorial: A hands-on tutorial for beginner authors when a new lesson is created. • Improved object naming usability: Objects with text now include a prefix to indicate the type of object to make action authoring easier. For example, a button labeled "Continue" will be named "Button: Continue" and a text object showing "Types of coffee" will be named "Text: Types of coffee". • Reveal transitions: Reveal top/bottom/left/right transitions added. • Improved visibility of SmartTracker lesson status: When your learners log into SmartTracker, they can now see lists of lessons based on status: Not started, Started, Completed. Other enhancements not mentioned in the video: • Rich text scroller margin: Property added to allow authors to select how much margin to include to the left of the scroller. • Accessible Player Bars: Set the Player Bar object’s Style property to Accessible to make the object accessible for screen reader users. • Improve move undo: When multiple objects are moved at once, the undo will now undo all moved objects rather than undoing one object move at a time. • M4A audio: Support for M4A (MPEG-4) audio files has been added, in addition to the existing MP3 format. • Batch import SmartTracker learners: In the SmartTracker, Learners tab, create multiple learners in a single step by importing a CSV file.
