The Smithy Granite 1340 Motor Controller board was malfunctioning, which presented an opportunity to acquire the lathe at a significantly reduced price. I recognized the need to invest time in diagnosing and repairing the faulty electronic board, and I'm happy to report that I was able to successfully identify the root cause of the problem and correct a previous, unfortunately ineffective repair attempt.
