SNAKEPIT - Scene 5: [Enter: Apollyon]

[In which the holy fool considers martyrdom.] This was a final project for an animation class. I did it in stop motion animation via paper cutouts, and I edited it together in ToonBoom Harmony (I forget which version). I hope I'll be able to put together more scenes in the future, as this is scene 5 out of 8 total scenes that I originally planned out. The animation itself is a condensed version of a longer story I plan to make into a comic. I consider the animation to be a sort of summarized-adaptation, aha. I hope my amateur stop-motion skills are to your liking. :] Characters present: Dante Carbone (he/him): the one freezing into unconsciousness (also the one in the cover) Apollyon (he/they): the one in the mask, kneeling down at the end Explanation of scene (in case it's unclear, seeing how this is right in the middle of the plot): Dante has been exiled into the Forest Faux for one year, and the season has turned winter. During the first real blizzard of the season, he fails to light a fire. In his delirium he realizes the snow will become his coffin. Further still, he figures that if he is to be buried here, he should be the one to dig his grave-- he's an undertaker after all. He doesn't get far before frostbite makes his hands bleed, even if they're too numb to feel. Just before he succumbs to the elements, he sees a figure standing before him. He passes out, and the figure, Apollyon, approaches him. Apollyon kneels down. Scene ends, cutting to black.
