In the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, men and women sign up to defend their countries as volunteer soldiers, balancing their military training with their families and full-time jobs. Many of these units are trained by U.S. Special Operations Forces, deployed to the Baltics as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve. Together they sharpen basic infantry skills while improving their ability to work together in the event of a crisis.
