There comes a moment when a line stops being a line.
When what was drawn on a map begins to dissolve in memory, in longing, in the simple act of wanting to return.
Crossing the Line is not just about a border.
It is about the weight it carries in the body, in time, in silence.
“We didn’t cross the border.
The border crossed us.”
For some, crossing a line is an act of defiance.
In Turkish, there is a phrase — “haddini aşmak” — to go beyond what is permitted, to step outside imposed limits.
But what if those limits were never meant to define us?
This chapter moves through that space — between fear and courage, separation and connection — where something begins to shift.
Not loudly. But quietly, humanly.
