SOLIDWORKS Tutorial: Your Best Options for Applying Decals
This tutorial applies to both part and assembly models in @SOLIDWORKS. When applying decals, you can sometimes find the various options for mapping them correctly to be confusing. In this video, Alejandro shows you the best settings to use when mapping decals within part and assembly environments. You can apply a decal to a face, a body, a surface, or a feature. For flat surfaces, you will want to use Projection or Label. For non-flat surfaces, you will want to use Label due to a few factors. (Need to learn more about assembly or part modeling? Attend one of our online classes: www.gsc-3d.com/training-events) Cylindrical mapping tends to add a version of the label to the opposite side; projection mapping will sometimes apply the decal to opposite faces. We are using a grill assembly in this example. We hope you enjoyed this how-to tutorial!
