Solidworks: Variable pitch pattern using sketch segments

Here's a technique I have used in projects to create patterns with variable pitches between features. The set up is a little involved, however the control sketch is interactive and fairly flexible. Pro/Engineer-Wildfire-Creo has a feature 'Graph Evaluation' where you can use a graph to control positions of pattern instances (and other things) by using a control sketch. I used that featue as inspiration to come up with this approach. I'll upload the SW file in the next day or two.
