Hey everybody! Here's the next episode of Soloing Secrets with the legendary living blues icon Buddy Guy. I've had a lot of requests to feature some of Buddy Guy's timeless and beyond-influential music, and while this lesson has been on the back-burner for a while and long overdue, I'm really glad to finally create this one and hit some of Buddy's signature music and fretboard ideas - so let's dive in! This lesson revolves around a selection of ideas pulled from Buddy's timeless 1968 release A Man And The Blues, which was technically his second solo album. He was already a legend at that time, but the album cemented his status with plenty of other guitar legends - players with names such as Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Keith Richards, and countless other players. The ideas shared in this lesson uncover an assortment of signature Buddy Guy licks, moves, and ideas. This includes his slick hybrid-picked melodic ideas (a sound that Stevie Ray Vaughan borrowed heavily), intense string bending/vibrato moves, targeted melodic phrasing over chord progressions, percussive raked string bending licks, extended-range string bending, and much more! Needless to say, if you're a Buddy Guy fan, a blues guitarist looking for some classic ideas to stick in their bag of tricks, a player wanting some insight into playing authentic blues guitar licks/phrases, or maybe you're just curious what all the fuss is about - this lesson is totally for you!
