HOW TO SOLVE MANOMETER PROBLEMS. SOLVE MANOMETER PRESSURE PROBLEMS by HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE EQUATION. FLUID STATICS
Change in height of fluids or 'height differential' in the manometer is used to calculate the pressure exerted, by using the equation P=density x gravity x change in height.
Three key concepts:
1. All pressure forces are normal to the surface in which they act.
2. In solving for pressure at a certain point, all pressure leading to that point is added and is equal to that pressure.
3. When adding, signs of pressure directed downward is positive and signs of pressure directed upward is negative.
