A few months ago, the Epoch and Turtle Discords were basically at war with each other. Server launches got flooded with bad faith, Reddit threads turned into pile-ons, every camp thought theirs was the real vanilla and everyone else was either delusional or a tourist. That had been the default culture of the private server scene for years. Then Turtle got the shutdown date. And something shifted almost overnight. This video is about what's happening in the Classic WoW private server community right now, the Turtle refugees being welcomed into Epoch, the guilds actively recruiting them, the grassroots effort to rebuild all the information lost when the original Epoch website went down. The tribalism that used to define this scene has gone quiet, and in its place is something that looks a lot like people actually showing up for each other.
