Sorbitol Base Lollipops

Rx Nystatin 2,560,000 units Lactose Monohydrate 0.56 g Base Sorbitol Lollipop 90 g Color Flavor Stevioside Liquid Extract 15% 8 gtts To make 8 lollipops Procedure 1.Place 150 ml beaker on the balance. 2.Tare and weigh ---- grams of sorbitol lollipop base. 3.Melt sorbitol lollipop base on hot plate while stirring with a stirring rod. (No magnetic stirrer). 4.Using a grinding motion, triturate lactose monohydrate and nystatin in an 8 oz. mortar until evenly distributed. Add food powder and stevioside powder to the mixture and triturate well. 5.Transfer the mixture into a weigh boat. Sprinkle the powder into the melted Base while stirring with stirring rod. 6.Add flavor(s) if desired. 7.Remove beaker from hot plate and set on counter. 8.Pour into molds as soon as you are able to hold the beaker comfortably in the palm of your hand.
