A few concepts before starting square roots. Three tricks are required to take square roots. They are relatively easy compared to division and multiplication. This video is just an introduction so you will recognize them when we start the next videos.
1) Taking half of a number, without going through the steps of division.
2) 1 through 9 squared, and half of those numbers. Keep them beside you for now, but down the road, you'll need to know these.
3) We'll only take square roots of numbers between 1 and 100. To take larger (or smaller) roots, we must move the decimal point, do our work, and then move it back.
