Soundproofing a floor
Learn how to soundproof a floor by decoupling the floor from the ceiling below using Joist Isolators and/or Joist Gasket Tape. When trying to control impact sounds on floors it is imperative to decouple the floor from the ceiling below. This can be done by building a floor on top of a floor and decoupling the 2nd floor by using rubber joist isolators. This is a great option for a gym and other heavy impact noises. Joist gasket tape can be used between floor joists and subfloor. This inexpensive and easy to apply tape does a great job at enhancing the quietness between floors.
