In this video I investigate just how much platinum is required to get an atmospheric thruster powered ship into space in Space Engineers. Then make a failed attempt at coming up with a simple rule of thumb that will work for upgrading your existing ships to make them space capable with a few ion thrusters. I also say slingshot... a lot! If you've ever wanted to reach space on the cheap and you happen to like playing with meteor storms enabled then this is the video for you - particularly if you like flying deck chairs ;) As always, don't forget to enjoy this awesome (if at times buggy) game!
