They act as a designated offensive force, and paired with those defensive experts the Gatekeepers, are a part of the Hell Warders Chapters - a quintumvirate of five Space Marine Chapters - tasked to defend the Imperium against Chaos incursions from the dual warp rifts known as the 'Hellgates' of Sector Occident Prime, located in the Segmentum Solar uncomfortably close to Holy Terra.
