Spearman’s Correlation Analysis is a statistical method used to measure the degree and direction of relationship between two variables based on ranks. It is also known as Spearman’s Rank Correlation Coefficient and is denoted by R.
Unlike Karl Pearson’s correlation, which measures linear relationships using actual values, Spearman’s correlation measures the relationship using ranked data. Therefore, it is useful when data is ordinal, non-normal, or when the relationship is monotonic rather than strictly linear.
