‬‬ Meditation on 1 Corinthians 13:11 “When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV “When I was a child…” There’s innocence, simplicity, and a lack of understanding in childhood. Our thoughts are shaped by limited experience, and our words often echo what we hear rather than what we know. “…I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child…” Paul acknowledges the natural way of being in that season—it’s not shameful, just incomplete. The childlike ways are not wrong; they are simply not the end of the journey. “…but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” Growth demands release. Maturity means letting go of old patterns: impulsive reactions, self-centered thinking, surface-level understanding. It’s not about rejecting the past—it’s about transforming it. Reflection Questions: • What “childish things” might I still be holding onto—emotionally, spiritually, or relationally? • How am I being called to grow into spiritual maturity right now? • In what areas of my life do I need deeper understanding and wisdom? Pray: Lord, guide me in the process of becoming. Teach me to let go of what no longer serves my journey, and help me to walk in the fullness of maturity, love, and wisdom. Amen. #bible #motivation #meditation #foryou
