Count Basie is my favourite big band. Many years ago I remember going to see his band with Georgie Fame at the Royal Albert Hall. I went with my dad, it was a great day. This is to a large extent a straight live take, bass is live on pedalboard. However there are some multitrack additions. There are Drum highlights and fills in addition to the inbuilt drum style. I recorded these using the keyboard and the Jazz Drum kit on the Orla. The is also an extra Sax section on some parts. In addition there is a Guitar part played in the style of Freddie Green who was with the Basie Band for around 50 years. Please enjoy this arrangement.
