How “not” to make silane gas: We rushed and did this without actually calculating the correct masses needed using the stoichiometry. Needless to say, the results and quantity of silane generated was hit and miss. The end of the video outlines how my AP chem students will do it in the future and we will do it in the fume hood (although I had the extractor fans running).
