SQL SELECT statement is used to fetch the data from a database table which returns data in the form of result table. These result tables are called result-sets. The LIKE operator is used in a WHERE clause to search for a specified pattern in a column. In SQL, wildcard characters are used with the SQL LIKE operator. SQL wildcards are used to search for data within a table.
