My father-in-law has implemented a Squirrel Relocation Progam so his cardinals and finches can have a chance at some bird seed. He baits a live trap with seed and when he catches a squirrel, he transports it under cover for two reasons -- so the squirrel stays calm during the short trip to our acreage, and so the squirrel doesn't see any landmarks to find his way back. (Just kidding!) Now my in-laws can feed birds rather than squirrels and we can enjoy seeing squirrels jump from limb to limb in our trees.
