The Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) has over a decade of experience working with mining companies to develop lithium recovery processes from various sources (e.g., spodumene, lepidolite, petalite, smectite, illite, pegmatite and other lithium-bearing hard rock ores and clay deposits) to produce battery-grade lithium products.
We’ve developed Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology and offer specialized performance testing of other DLEs.
SRC built a large-scale lithium pilot plant with the capacity to process spodumene, lepidolite, petalite and lithium-brine concentrates to produce battery-grade lithium carbonate and hydroxide monohydrate. This facility is one of only a few of its kind in North America and Europe and provides lithium companies the capacity and expertise to prove scale up and commercialization.
